This week...

Reading- We are reviewing inference this week. As readers, we use evidence from the text and our own experiences to make inferences. The students will make inferences and support them with evidence. There will be a graded inference assignment on Wednesday. On Friday, we will take a test on what we’ve learned on text features, summary, and inferring.
Writing- We have written our stories, dived deeper, and stretched our sentences. It is now time to do our final revision and editing. The students will conference with the teacher this week, revise, edit, and publish their important person or important place narrative.
Math – Students will continue to represent multiplication and division situations in picture, word, and number form.  Ask your child to show you “Circles & Stars” and “Candy Boxes.” Reflex math is a good way to practice this skill.
Science – Students will continue to identify the roles of organisms in a system, identify characteristics that allow species to survive, and identify the Sun as a major source of energy. They will also represent the natural world using models and identify their limitations.
Social StudiesStudents will continue to study the causes and effects European explorers had on the land and natives of Texas. This week we will focus on Coronado and Onate.
